Terms of use
These Terms of Use explain how you can use OutDeckly, what information we collect, and how we match you with licensed, insured deck builders. OutDeckly is free and we do not build, design, or pull permits.
1) Welcome to OutDeckly (what we are and what we aren’t)
OutDeckly is a FREE matching and information service for homeowners in the United States. We help you share your deck project details and get matched with licensed, insured deck builders near you, so you can compare options and choose who to hire.
OutDeckly is not a deck builder, general contractor, design firm, or construction company. We do not build decks, design structures, install railings/stairs, measure sites, or pull permits on your behalf. Any construction work is performed only by the licensed deck builders we connect you with.
The content on our site (including general deck guidance and cost estimates) is for education and planning only. It is not a substitute for professional design, engineering, code review, or a permit check by qualified local parties.
2) Who can use the service
You may use OutDeckly if you are a homeowner or otherwise have a legitimate interest in planning a deck project for a property in the U.S. Deck permit rules, zoning rules, and building codes vary by city and state.
If you submit information, you represent that it is accurate to the best of your knowledge. You are responsible for keeping your contact information up to date so builders can reach you if you choose to contact them.
3) The matching process and your control
When you submit a lead form, you provide details about your deck project. OutDeckly may use that information to help match you with the licensed, insured deck builders that operate in your area and appear to be able to take on your type of project.
You control what happens next. Builders may contact you with questions or quotes. You do not have to move forward. If you decide to hire a builder, the agreement for pricing, scope, and workmanship is between you and that builder.
OutDeckly does not guarantee that any builder will respond, that pricing will meet your expectations, or that a builder will be available. Deck construction also depends on site conditions and local code requirements.
4) Pricing information (estimates, not quotes)
Any cost figures shown on OutDeckly (including typical cost-per-square-foot ranges) are estimates intended to help you plan. They are not quotes or bids.
Your final price may change based on many factors, including deck size, deck height, the number and type of footings, ledger board conditions, joist framing, railings, stairs, material choice, local labor rates, site access, drainage, and local permitting and inspection requirements.
Before any work starts, ask the licensed builder for a written price/scope and confirm what is included (and not included).
5) Permits, licensing, and inspections
Decks often require permits and inspections, which vary by location. OutDeckly does not pull permits and cannot confirm code compliance for your property.
You should hire only licensed, insured deck builders. Before agreeing to a job, verify the builder’s license and insurance directly, confirm which permits will be pulled, and make sure the work passes required inspections.
If a dispute arises, it will be handled between you and the builder you hire—not OutDeckly.
6) How OutDeckly is paid (and what it does not mean for you)
Licensed deck builders pay OutDeckly a flat fee for lead introductions. OutDeckly is always FREE for homeowners.
This means you should never be asked to provide payment details or pay OutDeckly directly. OutDeckly does not charge homeowners for submitting a project request or using the site.
Nothing about our matching service should be treated as a promise about final cost, availability, or quality. Your builder selection is your choice.
7) What we collect and how it’s used
To provide matching and helpful information, OutDeckly may collect contact details (such as your name, phone number, email), basic project details, and related preferences you submit through forms.
Please do not send sensitive financial information (like bank account numbers) through OutDeckly. OutDeckly does not request or process financial records for homeowners.
For details on how we use and protect information, please review our Privacy Policy.
8) Text messages, calls, and TCPA consent
Some homeowners receive calls or text messages related to their deck project inquiry. Where required, your submission may include consent related to communications.
Each lead form includes a TCPA consent checkbox. If you opt in, you may receive communication from the deck builders we match you with and/or from OutDeckly for service-related purposes. You can also opt out where options are provided in the message or in your settings.
Carrier rates may apply. Message frequency varies based on your request and responses from builders.
9) Builder communications and third-party content
Builders are independent third parties. Any quotes, schedules, design decisions, warranties, and work performance are the builder’s responsibility.
OutDeckly is not responsible for the accuracy of builder-provided information or for what builders say during outreach. If anything is unclear, ask for it in writing and verify it directly with the builder.
10) Prohibited use
You agree not to use OutDeckly to submit false information, spam, or content intended to harm or disrupt the service.
You also agree not to attempt to access areas of the site without authorization, interfere with our systems, or collect personal data from others without permission.
11) Disclaimers (legal limits)
OutDeckly provides the service “as is” and “as available.” To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.
We do not guarantee that you will be matched with a builder, that any builder will contact you, or that any builder will be able to complete your project. We also do not guarantee outcomes related to pricing, permitting, or construction timelines.
Deck codes and permit requirements vary by city/state and property conditions. Any local requirements must be confirmed by qualified professionals and the builder you hire.
12) Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent allowed by law, OutDeckly will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, revenue, or data, even if advised of the possibility.
OutDeckly’s total liability (if any) will generally be limited to the amount, if any, paid by you to OutDeckly for the service—however, OutDeckly is provided free for homeowners, so the amount may be zero.
Some states and jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations or exclusions, so these limitations may not apply to you.
13) Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time to reflect changes to the service, legal requirements, or operational updates. When we make changes, the updated Terms will be posted on this page.
Your continued use of the service after changes become effective means you accept the updated Terms.
14) How to contact us
If you have questions about these Terms of Use, please visit Contact us for the best way to reach OutDeckly.
If you are requesting deletion or corrections of your information, please include enough detail so we can identify your submission.
OutDeckly is a free service that matches you with licensed, insured deck builders and provides general guidance—pricing and timelines are estimates, you still choose and verify your builder, and permits/inspection are handled by the builder.
